The imaginary world of Doctor Who, created through more than 5 decades by numerous talented writers, producers, designers and actors, not to mention The Doctor himself played by Tom for 7 years, has entertained millions of people, and in some cases helped them tackle this confusing world and make something of their lives.
Over 4,000 people have written in Tom’s guestbook since his first website went online in 2009, many of them telling inspiring personal stories of the importance of Doctor Who in their lives and Tom greatly appreciates them. I'm a big fan from way back. Though you were not my 1st Doctor, were are a very close 2nd. I have enjoyed watching you as the Doctor and in other shows as well. I really enjoyed your Sherlock Holmes especially. You are a man of many talents and I have followed your career as much as I could from across the pond. I chose a career in the medical field for a few reasons; two of them were because of characters on TV shows. Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) on Star Trek and Doctor Who (you Mr. Baker and Jon Pertwee - he was my 1st Doctor). The three of you taught me empathy, compassion, and courage and I thank all of you for that. The only one I never got a chance to tell was Mr. Pertwee. God Bless you.
Most Sincerely,
Polly McCaul, MA, PhD, LLPC
Sadly I cannot come to the UK at the moment because my family and I are saving up for a
trip to Australia. I am also a big fan of Doctor Who, and I have seen many of
your stories on reruns.
I hope you and your family have a great start to 2020
From Jared
In this current age of unreason it is the Doctor’s intelligence, individuality, kindness and wit that I draw upon to see past those in power who seem rich, but in reality are very poor because they lack all or some of these virtues.
As I travel through time and space, the lessons that I learnt from watching you on Doctor Who that help me boldly forge better paths and build bridges for myself and others.
If you ever visit Whidbey Island, then I’d love to buy you a cup or glass of your favourite brew. Since this isn’t likely, I still say “Cheers and Thank you good sir!” from the Windswept Isles on the Salish Sea.
Any season 2,3,3,4 etc.. of you on Dr.Who?
Have a blessed New year!
Xoxo
I have a large collection of reproduction costumes that you wore, and even though im not you, It clearly gives people great pleasure to see even a copy of the original.
I only costume the 4th doctor, but its obvious your version is a timeless iconic example.
I had this young boy wearing a fez walk up to me in a shopping center recently, he must have been only 9 or ten, but he knew "Who" i was.
Hoping you have a great new year.
Mike
Don't know when we will be able to see you again, as we are moving to Stevenage in March 2020(going to be busy & expensive 2020).
We wish yourself and Sue, a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.
Love and best wishes from your loyal friend Gwyneth & husband John XXXX
Just want to wish you a fantastic Christmas and a most wonderful New Year!
Hopefully be able to meet you again at another convention and try and control my emotions this time 🙂
Best Wishes (Doctor)
I just wanted to that although Jon was my first dr. You will always be my favourite dr. Thanks for making Saturday nights great.
Thank you Mr. Baker. I wish you well. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. And thanks again for the two autographed pictures. My wife and I love the one with your cats!
I am hoping you will be making a convention appearance in London during 2020. I would very much like to meet you in person having been a fan since the late 1970s. Have been enjoying all the stuff I sent in to have you sign a few years ago. You'll always be my fave!

I've just finished listening to your reading of "Scratchman" and quite enjoyed it. Takes me back 40 years when I first discovered Dr. Who with "Ark in Space" and I got hooked. I've always had a special fondness for the Doctor, Sarah Jane, and Harry team. Your voice still has the resonance that it did all those years ago and it is a joy to listen to. I'm also a devoted listener to the Big Finish audios, and enjoy the stories as I pop them in to the CD player on the commute to and from work. I get so involved in the stories that I hope for extra heavy traffic so that I can hear the stories in their entirety.
Hope you keep going with the audios, I look forward to every new adventure.
Sincerely,
Edward Mittelsteadt
When I was a teenager in Boston, the local PBS station ran your first few seasons five days a week, over and over (Robot to Invasion of Time) for about six years. I think I missed maybe 12 airings altogether. This was long before the Internet, so that was it--those four seasons, over and over. A lot of actors can do a good performance. But it takes real skill to hand in a performance that's still fresh and enjoyable on the sixth or seventh time through.
I hope you make it to America again soon for one of the conventions. Specifically, one in New York, but I realize you have a lot of things on your plate. I wish they still had an address for fans to send you letters, rather than these typed nothings. Anyone can type a fan letter; it takes real effort to put it all down on paper and find a stamp and mail it in.
Anyway, I'd also like to thank you for that cameo in Day of the Doctor. You are the best.
Thank you for your autograph. You were my first Doctor and the best one. I lost my sister Yvette, but I will always remember the many evenings that she and I would sit together and watch your episodes.
I know you have done much more than Doctor Who, but you and the role you had allowed me to spend many happy days in fellowship with sister. I wish to bless you and your family. If God wills I will see you one day, even though I live in America. Please consider going to one of our conventions.
You are a blessing to me forever.
Sincerely and with love and eternal gratitude, your friend, Harry Mckinney
You have always been my favourite Doctor as your humour just made it that much more enjoyable for me to watch Doctor Who as a child (that and your Jelly Babies) and you still make me laugh just as much all these years later.
One of my earliest memories of watching Doctor Who is from around age 5 when a colleague of my mathematician father had come to visit and watched "Revenge of the Cybermen" with me one night. The next day he woke up to find one of my teddy bears in his bed and as it hadn't been there when he went to sleep he spoke to my parents about it who then questioned me. I told them that I had put it there in the middle of the night because Angus' wife, Barbara, wasn't with him that trip and I had gotten worried he might be lonely and scared. They said he of course missed Barbara very much but didn't understand why I thought Angus would be scared and I told them it was because of how scary the Cybermen and their pet Cybermats had been in the episode we had watched together. I remember we were sat on the sofa together and he put his arm around me when I got scared. I wasn't scared once I went to bed as I had all my teddy bears to keep me safe and I just wanted him to have one too.
Years later I found out the reason Barbara hadn't come with Angus for the first time ever was because she had passed away. My parents just hadn't wanted to tell me.
Thank you for being exactly who you are and for your ability to entertain me both as a child and an adult. ❤️
I am sure you've heard this before but you are one of two of my sons and my favorite Doctors. The other being John Pertwee. As I write this we are binge watching your episodes. We both want to thank you for these hours and weeks of enjoyment. He and I bond over our Who mania and you are a big part of that.
May you enjoy good health and continued longevity.
Sincerely,
India and River Meesig
